PADMAZ Congratulates the Syrian Opposition
The Patriotic Arab Democratic Movement in Ahwaz(PADMAZ) has sent a congratulatory letter to Mr. Hadi Al-Bahra, President of the National Coalition of Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces, on the occasion of the victories achieved by the Syrian opposition, particularly the liberation of Aleppo and Hama. The letter emphasized that these achievements represent significant strides toward ultimate victory against the Syrian regime, controlled by Bashar Al-Assad and operating under Iranian influence. It further highlighted that the downfall of the Syrian regime would enhance regional stability and undermine Iran’s interests, which exploits Syria as a base for sowing chaos.
The letter also shed light on the suffering of the Ahwazi people due to Iranian occupation since 1925, referencing their role in resisting this occupation, including the 15 April 2005 uprising. It affirmed that the fall of the Iranian regime is the most effective solution for regional peace, warning against supporting Iranian alternatives that are not significantly different from the current regime.
Note: The letter was originally published in Arabic on December 6th. The translated version is being published here for archival purposes following the fall of the Assad regime.
Translation of the Full Letter
To Mr. Hadi Al-Bahra
President of the National Coalition of Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces
Greetings,
We are pleased to extend our heartfelt congratulations to you on the great victories achieved by the heroic Syrian opposition on the ground, particularly the liberation of Aleppo and Hama from the grip of the Syrian regime’s forces. These achievements represent monumental steps toward the ultimate victory, and we pray that your efforts will culminate in the overthrow of the criminal Bashar Al-Assad regime and the liberation of the blessed land of Syria from the taint of Iranian control and influence, the enemies of the Arab and Islamic nations.
The Syrian regime has allowed Iran to turn the Umayyad capital, Damascus, into a platform for executing its destructive schemes. Iran’s interventions in Syria have exacerbated the suffering of the noble Syrian people, transforming Syria into a military base for spreading terrorism, chaos, and exporting crises to neighbouringcountries. Additionally, the Iranian regime has altered Syria’s demographic composition, spread addiction and organized crime, and sought to dominate Syria’s resources while using Bashar Al-Assad as a pliant tool in its hands.
The Syrian people’s revolution, since its inception in 2011, has proven—despite all difficulties—that the will of the people is indomitable. Today, it is on the brink of achieving its goal of liberating Syria from tyranny and building a bright future. The fall of the Asad regime and the liberation of Syria benefit not only the brotherly Syrian people but all the region’s nations, particularly the Lebanese, Palestinian, and Ahwazi people. The end of the Assad regime would weaken Iran’s influence in the region, which has long been a tool for undermining security and stability.
The Ahwazi Arab people have been suffering under Iranian occupation since 1925, when Iran invaded Ahwaz, suppressing and humiliating our Arab people, revealing its deep-seated hatred for anything Arab. Our people have resisted this brutal occupation heroically through continuous uprisings, including the 15th April 2005 uprising orchestrated by the Patriotic Arab Democratic Movement in Ahwaz (PADMAZ). This uprising came in response to the disclosure of a secret letter issued by then-President Mohammad Khatami’s office, aiming to alter Ahwaz’s demographic composition. PADMAZ paid a heavy price for this resistance, including the assassination of its head of political bureau, martyr Mohammad Sharif Al-Nawaseri. Nevertheless, our struggle continues until our people’s rights are fully restored.
Our shared enemy is the Iranian regime. As long as this regime remains in power, the region will continue to face chaos, instability and repression. One of the most effective and impactful solutions is the overthrow of this criminal regime, which oppresses all non-Persian Nations and even the Persian people themselves. However, the suffering of the Ahwazi people is compounded not only by the Iranian regime but also by the racist Iranian opposition, which carries the same Persian mentality of hostility toward Arabs and Muslims.
Thus, we urge our Syrian brothers in struggle to be aware of this sensitivity and avoid falling into the trap of promoting Iranian alternatives that are not much different from the current regime. The best alternative to the Iranian regime is to support the non-Persian nations within Iran’s political geography, who are fighting for self-determination and the restoration of their homelands.
We, in the Patriotic Arab Democratic Movement in Ahwaz, founded in 2002 under extremely challenging circumstances, express our full readiness to cooperate and coordinate with our Syrian brothers in the National Coalition. Among our people are those with deep knowledge and expertise regarding the Iranian regime and its structure, which can effectively contribute to achieving our shared objectives.
In conclusion, we once again congratulate you on the remarkable victories achieved by the revolutionaries on Syrian soil. We look forward to meeting you soon in beloved Damascus, liberated by God’s will.
Sincerely,
The Patriotic Arab Democratic Movement in Ahwaz(PADMAZ)
