Official attempts for confiscating lands of an Ahwazi village

PADMAZ- The Natural Resources Organization, as an agricultural project, has handed over the lands of the pastures around the village of Magtou to fisheries, and an affiliate of the Khatam Construction Camp, called Ferdows, with the aim of creating fish ponds.

This institution has seized part of the agricultural lands of the villagers who had official deeds.

The company and the fisheries have also closed the only rural road and dug a canal surrounding the village.

With the coordination of local officials, security forces were sent there and the people were treated harshly, and a few days ago, three old men from the village were arrested and then released after taking a vow.

Under the pretext of water shortage the provincial authorities forbid the farmers of different villages, including Magtoo, from cultivating in the summer, but in return, they issue permits to grant water to such companies through canals and without observing the technical principles.

What is the reason for digging the canal around the village and creating checkpoints and forcing people to travel 12 kilometers to enter the village and close the main road?

Based on several previous cases, Iran uses different methods, like drying out villages and banning agriculture or drowning villages during winters, to force Ahwazi villagers to abandon their villages.
